Who are British Krav Maga?
British Krav Maga is of a community of like minded individuals with a commitment to testing and developing themselves through Krav Maga. At any British Krav Maga school you will find communities of practitioners and Instructors training hard and tempering themselves physically and mentally through Krav Maga. Members push themselves hard and we recognise this may not be for everyone. At British Krav Maga we believe that Krav Maga is first and foremost a personal protection system - not a martial art. This is a vital distinction as it defines who we are and how we train.
An open minded approach to training
British Krav Maga has an open approach to training. We welcome debate, discussion and pressure testing. We welcome difficult questions and ackward scenarious. There is more truth in these situations than any co-operative training drill. We acknowlege that the stark reality of violence means that there not always have a perfect answer. The point at which an Association or Instructor believes they have all the answers or that their way is the only right way is the pooint at which they begin to diminish.
Krav Maga and Politics
Whether its organisational politics, ('my association is better than yours'), international politics, ('my country/religion is better than yours'). We dont do them. We are simply a British Association offering professional coaching and training in Israeli Krav Maga.
Krav Maga in Bristol
If you are based in Bristol, you are in a unique position. The British Krav Maga Association is based in Bristol. Bristol is a hot spot for Krav Maga in the UK with more Krav Maga Instructors per capita than any other city. This is because Krav Maga Bristol has trained more Krav Maga Instructors than any other School in the UK. Krav Maga Bristolhas expanded to in Clifton, Bedminster, Southville, Fishponds, and Filton.
