He came from the darkness behind me. "Mate?"

I spotted the knife straight away. Down to his side, but not hidden. He was masked and hooded, but calm and confident.

"Give me your phone."  After 19 years of crime-free living in London, I was finally the victim of a mugging.

But I learnt a lot about how I could have allowed the police to better respond to a crime like this, and the actions that I needed to take to ensure my data was safe.

What was the robber after? My iPhone, according to the police, the target of many mugging attacks.
